  • Growth mindset: Mentally tough athletes understand the power of mindset mastery. They take control of their thoughts in order to cultivate a mindset that focuses on solutions rather than dwelling on problems. They believe in their abilities and visualize their success which leads to optimism, even in difficult or challenging situations.
  • Resilience: Mentally tough athletes have the ability to bounce back from setbacks and failures. They view challenges as opportunities for growth and use adversity to fuel their determination to succeed. They have a never-give-up attitude that allows them to persevere even in the face of adversity.
  • Confidence: One of the key characteristics of mentally tough athletes is an unshakeable belief in themselves and their abilities. They know what they are capable of doing, and trust their capacity to overcome any obstacles they encounter. Confidence fuels motivation, enabling them to push themselves beyond their limits.
